Ted Cruz: Opinions?

Rising Republican star Ted Cruz seems to be on the right track on constitutional issues.

Also, he was a big help to Rand during his filibuster.

If Rand runs in 2016, would he consider Cruz as running mate?

If so, would the fact that Ted Cruz was born in Canada make him ineligible to be president?

Cruz was born to American parents and they returned to the U.S. when Cruz was 4 years old.

His parents had worked in the oil business but the were American citizens.

Ted Cruz is NOT a natural born citizen

He can be a senator all he likes but he's not qualified for the presidency.

Neither is Rubio
Nor is Jindal
Nor John McCain (If reports about the hospital are true)
Nor is Obama although he has gotten away with it.

Just because one person slides by doesn't set a precedent that the constitutional conditional should be ignored.

There is a specific national security reason for this being in place and we had better heed the warnings of our founders rather than toss it aside.

Survey says.... XXXXXX !

Just my intuition, but this chap is too slick.

Me no like.

What would the Founders do?

I thought he was questionable during the election only

because of something I read here - I agree with the poster below, I'm happy with him so far but his voting record will speak for itself.

The verdict is still out imo

So far so good but it is early in the game. He is a lawyer after all.

I really do not care about his past. I am sure he got loaded and did things he wish he had not like the rest of us sinners.

It could be argued that he was a citizen at birth because of his mother's citizenship and the fact that he never went through the naturalization process (that I'm aware of). But, you'd likely have a "birther" issue from the Democrats seeing how his father didn't become a citizen until 2005 and Ted wasn't born on US soil. I'd probably have an easier argument for eligibility than he would (born to parents in US Air Force on German base), but no worries folks, I'd rather die than be prez ;)

I'm reaching up and reaching out.
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
Spiral out.

It sure sounds like they're

It sure sounds like they're going for the NA Union. Neither Rubio nor Cruz are eligible to run for president in the USA. Would they be eligible to head the NA Union? I don't understand the aggressive promotion of Rand Paul in the msm. He's being hailed and touted like an inside story.

Whoops triple post

He cant be to bad because Ron Paul Endorsed him !!!

He cant be to bad because Ron Paul Endorsed him !!!

He cant be to bad because Ron Paul Endorsed him !!!

Do you mean Ron Paul endorsed

Do you mean Ron Paul endorsed Ted Cruz as an eligible and desirable candidate for the senate? Running for Prez is a different matter for which he is NOT eligible. Let's not continue down the eligibility path just to let Obama off the hook. It's a slippery slope to have eligibility factor watered down in America's highest elected office in the land. Eligibility to run for POTUS should NOT be a difficult challenge. Why has it become so?

We Know About Neo-Cons and Neo-Liberals

Time for the establishment to start promoting their neo-libertarians.

Spot on.. Cruz's wife is Goldman Sachs

Anyone who pisses off McCain...

...can't be all bad.

McCain and Lindsey Graham are now less influential than Bob Dole

They are has-beens who need one last swift kick to boot them out of office.

Better than Lindsay

Better than Lindsay Graham.

Worse than Ron Paul.

But I still think he moves the pendulum in the appropriate direction.

He was a better choice than

He was a better choice than Dewhurst down in Texas.
I wouldn't say he's a neocon of Rovian proportions, but still a neocon.
Much like all the videos of Ted Nugent on here a few weeks ago...sure he is right on the 2nd Amendment and a few others, but that's about it.
Remember we want total freedom and liberty, not a Ted Cruz version of controlled freedom.

He's a israeli worshipping neocon

Riding the coats tails of rand paul, in time you will see his true colors.

My goodness... What an

My goodness... What an irresponsible accusation/comment. Is there a basis for making this statement?

He is a mixed bag of nuts.

He is a mixed bag of nuts. Nuts no pun intended... foreign policy bad. Loves Israel more than the US... but good on some issues... maybe Rand will turn him around..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

I fear he's a social

I fear he's a social conservative. But overall I like him. He's very knowledgeable about constitutional law, in a way that makes him very dangerous to arrogant liberals.

See the video of Scarborough lambasting Cruz, only for Scarborough to be wrong. Video will be available here once it's done churning.

Exceeded my expectations

He has also been strong on TSA, he is still pro-Israel. He ain't afraid of Feinstein!

Voting records.

When the time comes, I will examine each and everybody's voting record, as well as speeches/actions promoting the ideals of Liberty.
